Prepared by Movies Dock Editorial

The Pension Heist follows three women dismissed as too old by the people and institutions around them. Refusing to accept that judgment, they join forces and devise an audacious plan to rob Norway’s Sovereign Wealth Fund in this Norwegian action comedy.

The Pension Heist is a Norwegian action comedy centered on three women who have been pushed aside because of their age. Rather than accept the limits imposed on them, they decide to answer that treatment with an ambitious criminal scheme.

Directed by Gunnbjørg Gunnarsdóttir, the film combines a retirement-age perspective with an unusually large target: Norway’s Sovereign Wealth Fund, widely known as the Oil Fund. Its premise sets up a story about solidarity, defiance and an exceptionally bold heist plan.

Story without spoilers

Annema, Mona and Nina are three women in their prime who find themselves dismissed by employers, spouses and even the healthcare system for being considered “too old.” Instead of allowing those judgments to define their lives, the trio comes together and develops a plan to steal from Norway’s Sovereign Wealth Fund.

The setup places the women at the center of an action-comedy story, with their shared determination driving the plot. The available synopsis establishes the target and the women’s motivation without revealing how their scheme develops or what consequences follow.
