As the first unveiled woman in Afghanistan, she dedicates herself to advocating for women’s rights in her adopted country. Her lesser-known journey allows us to explore a transformative period in Afghanistan from the late 1920s to the mid-1960s when the country began to open up and the status of women significantly improved.
