Story: At 79, Georg Trapp finds solace in tranquility. The retired philosophy professor cherishes his solitude, surrounded by his cherished books and unique moods. However, his sense of self shakes when he welcomes Sofia, a young housekeeper, into his life. Her probing questions spark introspection in the typically stoic Georg. As he puts together the guest list for his upcoming 80th birthday, Sofia notes the absence of genuine friends among the expected attendees and dignitaries! Motivated by her insights, Georg reaches out to reconnect with his long-lost best friend. The antiquarian Heinz is delighted by the unexpected reunion and emboldens Georg to take a chance on romance: Henri, his unreciprocated love, is now a widow, free for him. Finally summoning the courage, Georg decides to express his feelings to the sophisticated lady. Aware of his own shortcomings, he even dares to interfere in Sofia’s life, unsolicited.
