Story without spoilers

Kate joins her boyfriend’s friends at a countryside retreat, expecting time away from everyday life. Instead, old tensions return as strange lights begin appearing overhead. The situation becomes more troubling when people in the group start acting unusually calm, kind, and agreeable.

Kate believes these changes are connected to something dangerous, but her concerns are dismissed as instability. As the influence behind the group’s transformation appears to spread, she must try to persuade the others that the retreat is no longer safe.

With its remote retreat, unexplained lights, and unsettling idea of people becoming excessively agreeable, The Nice Ones places psychological unease at the center of a genre blend. The film’s concise runtime keeps the focus on Kate’s attempt to identify and stop the force affecting the group without revealing the mystery in advance.
