Story: Set in a southern region of China, a summer of disturbances kicks off with a troubling series of assaults, all involving young girls in one-piece dresses. Tasked with solving the case are Captain Hu and Officer Tsai, who is struggling with hemorrhoids that complicate his daily life. Unbeknownst to Tsai, he will unexpectedly encounter a nurse named Fen, whom he met during a hospital visit. Meanwhile, Captain Hu faces his own difficulties as he comes to terms with his teenage daughter blossoming into young adulthood—he must figure out how to connect with her. Additionally, his semi-paralyzed father-in-law is being incredibly choosy about choosing a caregiver, making the situation even trickier. To top it off, Hu’s wife has become increasingly distant from the family.
