Story without spoilers

Prokopiy lives largely isolated from society, kept inside by Maria, who believes confinement protects him from harm. The arrival of Aiyyna introduces a different kind of care: warmth, conversation and an invitation to participate in ordinary life.

Aiyyna helps Prokopiy leave his locked room and brings him to a sleigh ride and a party. These experiences give him a new sense of belonging, but they also intensify the conflict at home. As Prokopiy moves closer to independence, Maria struggles with the possibility that she can no longer control every danger around him. The story follows that difficult movement from sheltered security toward an uncertain form of freedom.

What to expect

The film is presented as a drama and a coming-of-age story, with a tone described as touching, harsh and poetic. Its central tension comes from the competing meanings of protection and independence, particularly within a family relationship.

The remote Yakut setting and the focus on Prokopiy’s first experiences outside confinement place the emphasis on personal change, social vulnerability and the complicated emotional cost of freedom. The premise suggests a serious, intimate story rather than a conventional feel-good narrative.
