🎬 Title: Searching for Halifax NP711
It’s not about finding closure; it’s an integral part of the narrative.
Story: On February 21, 1945, the Royal Canadian Air Force’s Halifax bomber, NP711, took off from Linton-on-Ouse air base in England on a mission targeting Worms, Germany, carrying a crew of seven. Unfortunately, the aircraft never reached its destination. Hit by enemy anti-aircraft fire, it tragically crashed into a mountainside close to Leistadt, Germany, claiming the lives of all crew members. The impact was so severe that debris was scattered over a distance of more than 1,000 meters. Fast forward seventy-seven years, the wreckage was finally recovered and the crash site has been recognized as a gravesite for the fallen crew. This documentary explores the final moments of the seven crew members and the efforts to recover the Halifax NP711 wreckage.
