Story: Set in a distant future, the narrative unfolds on Midorijima, a southwestern Japanese island marked by stark contrasts. It features ‘Platinum Jail’, an exclusive and opulent resort operated by the prominent Toue Concern, alongside the ‘Old Residential District’, where original residents have been forcibly displaced due to rapid urban development. Within this ‘Old Residential District’, two distinct games captivate the inhabitants. One is ‘Ribsteez’, a territory-based combat game that involves teams engaging in hand-to-hand fighting, while the other is ‘Rhyme’, an expansive virtual reality platform where ‘Rhymers’ compete against each other in digital showdowns. Yet, our protagonist Aoba has little interest in these games; his main desire is to enjoy a peaceful life with his grandmother in the ‘Old Residential District’. However, unusual events are starting to unfold, posing a threat not just to Aoba’s tranquility but to the entire Midorijima island.
