Story: This uproarious comedy presents a grand-scale soap opera as a dubious property developer confronts the trials of Mexico’s tumultuous past. The film, directed by Santiago Mohar Volkow, follows the saga of real estate mogul Pepe Sánchez-Campo, whose ambitious mall project puts him at odds with local guerrilla factions. In a twist of fate, bribery and parental influence may not be sufficient to rescue Pepe—a character more absurd than the over-the-top telenovela surrounding him. In a bid to thwart Pepe’s union with Constanza, her cousin and secret lover, Teo captures Pepe’s infidelities on film.
