Story: Werner, a proud but secretly sentimental widower, is on the verge of living out his days in loneliness if not for the presence of Teresa. While the two elderly friends have developed routines to cope with their solitude and the ups and downs of aging, Teresa has recently been distant and discontent. In an effort to lift her spirits, Werner decides to throw a small celebration at their home, but he faces a dilemma: nearly all of their friends have passed away. As Werner busies himself with preparations and Teresa gets ready, an unexpected helper appears to assist them with “the guests.”
