KOKO SunYi movie

🎬 Title: KOKO SunYi

Story: KOKO SunYi reveals a deeply unsettling history shrouded in distortion and hidden truths. In May 1942, following a proposal from the Japanese Government General in Korea, a couple known as Papa Sang and Mama Sang traveled across the nation under the façade of helping wounded soldiers. They recruited women who were sent to a Japanese military comfort station in Myanmar, passing through Busan, Taiwan, and Singapore. By August 1944, as the Allied Forces and Chinese troops gained ground, many Korean women captured by the Japanese were treated as prisoners of war. They faced interrogations without translators, questioned in Japanese and English, before being dispersed across India. A US interrogation report identified these Korean comfort women as “prostitutes seeking financial gain.” Among the twenty women documented, the trail of one—identified only as KOKO SunYi—is pursued to unearth the concealed truths behind these distorted accounts.
