Synopsis: Gioia is a high school educator who has never experienced love beyond the stifling relationship she shares with her parents, with whom she continues to live. One of her students, Alessio, is resorting to selling his body in order to earn a few hundred euros to support his mother, a supermarket cashier. The bond that begins to form between Gioia and Alessio is fraught with challenges and is, paradoxically, a connection they find hard to part with. However, Alessio’s aspirations for a better life create an invisible barrier that stops him from fully embracing Gioia’s unexpected affection. In his pursuit of social elevation, he ultimately makes choices that jeopardize the only genuine love he has ever known.
