Synopsis: Dr. Kemal, the head of a private hospital in Istanbul, is deeply ambitious and genuinely wants to improve the lives of local residents. He believes he’s the ideal choice for mayor of the Beyoglu district. However, this viewpoint is not shared by his skeptical ex-wife, the voters who enjoy his hospitality, the party leader—who mistakenly thinks he’s an architect instead of a physician—or even his loyal driver. While the catchy slogan “the doctor has the cure” sounds appealing, Dr. Kemal is woefully unaware of the disturbing reality of political favoritism that surrounds him.
