🎬 Title: DOORS

Story: This new production by acclaimed playwright and director Yutaka Kuramochi marks his return after a year and a half. The story follows two contrasting girls, Maki and Riri, as they embark on an extraordinary journey through time and space. Portraying Maki is the talented and rising actress Nao, while former Nogizaka46 member Marika Ito plays Riri. The narrative also features Seina Sagiri as Maki’s mother, a crucial character at the story’s outset. Joining them are a colorful cast including Eiji Sugawara, Hiroki Konno, and Tagame Tamura. Set in a small rural town, Maki, a high school student, lives with her mother, Mitsuko, a former actress who faced a tough career setback and returned home. Unfortunately, Mitsuko’s struggles have led to conflicts with the community. Her increasingly insecure behavior begins to affect Maki, leading to her isolation at school. Riri, a prominent classmate, frequently interacts with Maki. However, everything changes one night when Mitsuko unexpectedly becomes lively and sociable, leaving Maki in disbelief. “That’s not my mother…” Maki sets out to find the “real Mitsuko” by consulting the local eccentric, who provides her with a vital clue. Along with Riri, Maki finds herself standing before a mystical “door.” As they open it, they discover an unimaginable world, contrasting the life they know with an alternate reality. What subtle hopes will they find at the end of this puzzling journey?
