Story: Louise, a 28-year-old living in Brooklyn, finds herself drifting through life. Recently single and uncertain about her music career, she struggles with unacknowledged feelings of depression. One drunken night, her reckless behavior leads to a fall that breaks her hip, forcing her into a physical therapy ward populated by people twice her age. Here, she encounters Antonina, a feisty elderly woman from Poland who doesn’t speak English. Louise takes on a caregiving role for her, and while neither is thrilled with the situation, they must confront the realities of growing older. Eventually, everyone faces the need to grow up.
