Daffy Season brings Daffy Duck and Elmer Fudd into a brief, sports-themed animated comedy. Daffy is prepared for Duck Season, but Elmer’s attention has shifted entirely to soccer, leaving Daffy without his expected hunting companion.

As more of the Tunes become absorbed by the sport, the situation takes on an increasingly unsettling, zombie-esque quality. Produced by Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, the six-minute short is scheduled for release in 2026.

Story without spoilers

Daffy Season begins with Daffy ready for Duck Season and expecting Elmer Fudd to join him. Instead, Elmer is preoccupied with his new passion for soccer. What starts as a personal inconvenience for Daffy grows into a wider problem when the sport’s influence appears to spread through the Tunes, changing the world around him into something resembling a zombie nightmare.

What to expect

This is a short-form animated comedy with family appeal and a deliberately unusual premise. The story combines Looney Tunes characters with soccer and zombie-inspired imagery, creating a contrast between a global sports celebration and Daffy’s increasingly troubled perspective. With a runtime of six minutes, the film is built as a compact, fast-moving animated story rather than a feature-length adventure.

With its short runtime, familiar characters and soccer-centered premise, Daffy Season offers a concise variation on the Looney Tunes setup. Its central conflict comes from the gap between Daffy’s expectations and Elmer’s new obsession, while the zombie-esque turn gives the comedy an unconventional edge.
