Story without spoilers

Abril is taken from his mother at the age of seven and placed in foster care in the hope that the change will offer both of them a better future. Away from home, he faces loneliness and the pain of separation, but finds support in Luna, an unexpected companion who helps him cope.

When Abril is reunited with his mother, the happiness of being together does not last. A further loss forces him to confront separation again, beginning a tender coming-of-age experience centered on attachment, longing and the emotional traces people leave behind.

What to expect

This is a compact family drama built around a child’s experience of foster care, reunion and loss. Its 15-minute runtime suggests a focused story rather than an expansive account, with the emotional perspective remaining closely connected to Abril and his changing understanding of love.

The film’s premise points to a bittersweet tone. While Luna’s companionship offers Abril a meaningful connection, the story also deals directly with loneliness and repeated separation. Viewers can expect a Spanish-language short concerned with family bonds and the feelings that remain after someone is gone.
