Story without spoilers

The film follows Radka Denemarková as a writer who treats her literary talent as a gift and considers defending human dignity a moral responsibility. Its portrait encompasses her uncompromising stances, her reflections on the present and recent past, and the themes found in works including Hodiny z olova and Peníze od Hitlera.

What to expect

Viewers can expect a feature-length literary documentary centered on one writer rather than a fictional narrative. The subject is presented through Denemarková’s ideas, public presence and stated sense of moral duty, with attention to both her books and their reception among international readers.

The film’s focus is personal and cultural: it considers an acclaimed Czech author’s relationship with language, history, responsibility and audiences outside her country.
