Ana the Cleaner centers on Ana, a Chicago house cleaner whose true-crime obsession takes a serious turn when one of her wealthy clients disappears. Blending comedy, crime, drama and thriller elements, the 2026 film follows her determination to investigate what may be the perfect murder.

Ana the Cleaner follows a professional cleaner whose work among Chicago’s elite places her close to a mystery she cannot ignore. Ana already spends her free time absorbed in true crime, but a client’s sudden disappearance gives that interest a dangerous new focus.

Written by Katie L. Fetting and directed by Guy Bauer, the film combines comedy, crime, drama and thriller elements. Its compact 86-minute runtime sets up a focused investigation built around Ana’s perspective and her unusual access to the lives of the people she works for.

Ana the Cleaner movie details

Story without spoilers

Ana cleans the homes of wealthy Chicago residents while maintaining a strong fascination with true-crime cases. When one of her clients vanishes without warning, she begins to suspect that the disappearance is connected to a carefully planned murder.

The film’s central setup places Ana between her everyday cleaning work and an investigation driven by personal curiosity. The supplied premise does not reveal whether her theory is correct or how the case develops, keeping the mystery at the center of the story.

What to expect

The film is presented as a genre blend rather than a single-category mystery. Its comedy and drama elements sit alongside a crime-thriller premise, with Ana’s occupation and true-crime fixation providing the story’s distinctive point of view.

The tagline, “She must investigate one week at a time,” suggests that the investigation is closely tied to Ana’s recurring work schedule. Viewers can expect a contained missing-person mystery involving questions of suspicion, access and the possibility of a hidden crime, without details about the resolution being disclosed here.
