Story without spoilers

Hyeonji and Jihyeon continue living together as they deal with worries about work, adulthood and what lies ahead. Hyeonji is an assistant producer for a YouTube channel, and Jihyeon is a struggling actor, placing both women in uncertain personal and professional situations.

The story takes a more painful turn after Hyeonji’s father dies suddenly and Jihyeon’s mother is diagnosed with terminal cancer. With both women overwhelmed by events they cannot easily control, Cosmic Trace focuses on how they confront grief, fear and the pressure of an uncertain future without revealing how their stories unfold.

What to expect

As a drama, Cosmic Trace is built around emotional and personal conflict rather than an action-driven premise. Its central concerns include sudden loss, serious illness, anxiety about the present and apprehension about the future.

The shared living situation gives the film a focused two-character foundation, while the leads’ different careers provide contrasting perspectives: Hyeonji works in online media production, and Jihyeon is pursuing acting. The premise points to a serious, emotionally weighty story about two people attempting to cope with major changes in their families and lives.
