Story without spoilers

Maya travels back to India with her mother to reunite with her father, a businessman involved in sandmining. While adjusting to this unfamiliar family environment, she develops a delicate connection with Kiran, a young worker connected to her father’s world.

That relationship and a tragic incident change the course of Maya’s return. As the police investigate, her father depends on her testimony to clear him. Maya’s growing unease pushes her to look more closely at the silence around the business, the exploitation affecting workers and the possibility that her family’s version of events is incomplete. Her search for the truth brings her toward a difficult choice about loyalty and complicity.

What to expect

The film presents a family drama built around a child’s perspective and a police investigation. Its premise connects personal loyalty with wider questions about labor, exploitation and the consequences of resource extraction.

Maya’s relationship with Kiran provides an emotional thread within the larger conflict, while the pressure placed on her as a witness gives the story a moral and investigative dimension. The material suggests a serious, socially focused drama concerned with secrecy, family responsibility and repeated harm.
