Story: In June 1944, Europe is in the throes of war as plans for the Normandy landings unfold. Denis Porte dedicates himself daily to the operations of a British military base… which is a ruse. The Porte lineage has a history of fathers and sons sacrificing themselves as heroes for France, so Denis is determined to remain safe for his mother’s sake. She won’t accept any risks—managing a phony base is the extent of her tolerance. However, after a chance encounter with Sami, an Algerian doctor longing to meet De Gaulle, they impulsively decide to join the action during a night of revelry. Fueled by alcohol, they set off, unaware that they lack the correct date and location. To complicate matters, a reluctant hero is hesitant to face any real danger. On D-Day—or something close to it…
