Story: Marta and her daughter, Nina, relocate to the quaint mountain village of Malanotte. Nina has been grappling with hypnagogic paralysis, a sleep disorder that can trigger vivid hallucinations, and Marta hopes that the fresh mountain air will alleviate her daughter’s symptoms. Unfortunately, their new home lacks warmth, and the streets seem devoid of children at play. From their very first night, Nina’s condition deteriorates, plagued by increasingly intense nightmares where a shadowy figure seems to press down on her, rendering her motionless and gasping for air.
