Story: In the mid-12th century, the mighty Mongolian Empire extended its reach from the Adriatic and Mediterranean Seas in the west all the way to the southern parts of China in the east. Under the leadership of Khan Batu, the Mongolian army was renowned for its stealth and efficiency, leaving destruction in their wake for anyone who dared oppose them. Despite being surrounded by such power, certain regions, like Kozelsk, stood defiantly against the Genghisids. The Mongolian forces avoided this fortified town, deeming that its resistance was not worth the risks involved. However, one of Khan’s commanders held a personal vendetta against the town’s inhabitants. Now, the people of Kozelsk must muster their courage to confront the mightiest army in existence, facing a seemingly unavoidable defeat. This narrative explores the depths of humanity in the face of death. Some individuals seek to flee, others are prepared to do whatever it takes to survive, but the majority are resolute in their determination to defend their home against the relentless onslaught of Mongolian warriors.
