Story: In the summer of 1998, the early segments of the Tour de France are hosted in Ireland. Dom Chabol, a dedicated Belgian cyclist in his late 30s, has spent the last two decades as one of the top “Domestiques”—a support rider whose job is to aid his team’s sprinter. His work involves taking on the challenges of the race so that others can shine, but secretly, Dom longs to wear the yellow jersey just once before hanging up his cycling shoes. However, as his final Tour approaches, he faces disappointment when he is suddenly cut from the team he has committed himself to for so long. His closest friend and team masseur, Sonny, struggles to provide the support Dom needs. Just as things seem grim, a chance encounter with Lynn, a young Irish doctor, brings him some comfort and helps him begin to embrace life outside of cycling. But as he prepares to return home and reconcile with his estranged sister, a significant doping controversy sidelines another teammate, thrusting Dom back into competitive cycling unexpectedly.
