Story: Jaap and Maartje have spent almost half a century together. While the irritable Jaap has lost interest in many activities, Maartje, albeit occasionally forgetful, remains eager to embrace life’s adventures. When an old friend from their holiday days reaches out, Maartje persuades Jaap to take a trip to Southern Europe, despite his reluctance. The couple dusts off their old car to navigate the dramatically transformed landscape of Europe, engaging in playful disputes while unearthing cherished memories. Throughout their journey, Jaap confronts the heartbreaking reality of Maartje’s increasing signs of dementia. As everything changes, they rekindle their appreciation for one another.
